Auki - behind the scenes glamour shoot Monsoon Madness

We sent Auki Henry and Krystal Eldridge behind the scenes with Mark Hamilton at the 2011 Monsoon Madness photoshoot in Darwin, Australia.

As far as photoshoots go, this is one of the most looked forward to on the NT Calendar, what started as a fun way to get some different kinds of studio shots done whilst the Darwin wet season rages outside for half the year has become an annual institution of sorts in the local glamour scene.

Hamilton Photography NT's dynamic duo of Katrina Welfare and Mark Hamilton have been doing photography of all kinds for years, they are particularly well known for their glamour photography and quality portfolio work with models for which they have both gained national and international recognition for their product.

It became very clear to us during our research for this featurette that they were so much more than just great photographers, the number of people who wanted to come forward to offer testimonials to us on how much help Mark and Katrina are to the local scene, selflessly offering time, equipment and expert advice to other photographers.

They also often offer their services for free when they are able to, considering their best rewards as seeing the local models who have aspirations to continue on in the field succeed because of their help.

HighRPM Presenter - Auki Henry

Originally born as Lionel Renagi William Henry on the 21st April 1974 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, to a Papuan mother and a father of mixed English and Scottish ancestry. Auki, as he was eventually named spent the next two years growing up amongst the natives of New Guniea and travelling with his family to what are still some of the most remote and sparsely inhabited wilds of the country's inner region.

Eventually the family moved to Darwin, capital of Australia's Northern Territory and Auki spent his formative years concentrating on education and swimming. From a young age Auki found a passion for a wide variety of pastimes and sports, being a competetive swimmer and eventually representing his state and country has led to a level of discipline and routine that has continued today as he writes freelance fitness and health articles for various publications. After graduating high school and studying information technology at NTU, Auki followed a career as certified IT Professional responsible for state government assets and infrastructure which he still does to this day.

Along with his civilian job a patriotic streak also drove Auki to enlist part time with the Australian Army and in 2003 he completed recruit training at Kapooka and came back to the Northern Territory to serve in the specialised infantry recon unit Norforce. Always true to the need to immerse himself in a variety of interests Auki has also built secondary careers in media disciplines such as design, animation, videography, editing and web development. It was from exposure to industries associated with these and a realisation that he needed to try more challenging avenues of interest that led him to being discovered by Real Identities.

After a short stint doing local promotional work and the help of an agency publicity push he landed one of four positions presenting on the newly formed motorsports media outlet HighRPM.

Australian model & media personality Tamika Barnett went live with her own personal website at www.tamikabarnett.com. As the one of the four presenters of North Australia's Motorsports show 'HighRPM', Tamika is often found presenting opposite Auki Henry on various feature segments from the show.

The media star is represented by marketing group Real Identities who specifically approached her in late 2009 and earmarked her for the HighRPM Media team. Since then she is reported to also be in the loop to do projects with SKY Sports and a new music show that is being planned by the production team at Zerolizard Media which is due to start second quarter of 2011 pending funding.

Tamika is enthusiastically supported by an army of photographers, production agencies and friends and has a keen following both locally in her current residence in Darwin,Australia as well as internationally.

Despite a sudden rise into the spotlight she remains grounded and fairly philosophical about it all, taking it in her stride, being approachable and always acknowledging those that have helped her along the way is perhaps why she has such a strong fan base.

Currently on a European tour she arrives back in Australia to commence work with HighRPM in early February.
